switcharoo!

So weekend 2 of being completely snowed in has taken its toll..miranda convinced me to let her straighten my hair. This wasn't going to happen. But as it goes Miranda can always talk me into ANYTHING. i agreed with the deal that she would let me do her hair the way i do mine. so as the title stands..the great switcharoo!
This is how it all went down: Miranda washed my hair/blow dried it and then sat me in a chair and refused to let me see a mirror until her artwork was completed. Try letting your life rest in miranda's hands..and by the way those hands were holding a hot iron..i was at her mercy! All along listening to her giggle with delight. All in all turns out it didn't look so bad. i mean i find comfort in my curls..but hey, a girls gotta let loose sometimes! (especially when she has been shut-in for half the month due to the snow). I laughed so hard when i looked in the mirror..how funny to see ourselves differently. Miranda let me do her hair and i was shocked at how curly it was! We actually had a really great time doing what typically girls do when we find ourselves looking for something to do..Pamper ourselves of course!
I think we might go watch a movie and spend the rest of the night just hanging out.

On another note. i was reminded today that it is Christ alone in which our hope is found. The shifting sands of the world are no match to the rock on which i stand. Encouraging, huh?

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
